Thirst Threatens City in Sudan

People in the town of El Daein, the capital of East Darfur state, have been complaining of a severe water shortage that the area has been experiencing since the end of November of last year, when the water stations went out of service following a power outage, feeding the stations in the city since last April.

At the same time, the town is suffering from a gasoline crisis. The fuel prices are high, and the price of a water tank ranges between 6-7 thousand pounds, besides it is difficult to obtain it.

El Daein inhabitant, Mohammed Adam said they urge international and national organizations to intervene immediately to save citizens from thirst, which represents a major challenge in light of the winter season, let alone the harsh summer season
