Volker Peretz’s resignation accepted

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced (Wednesday) that he had accepted the resignation of Volker Peretz from his position as head of the UNTAMS mission in Sudan.

Guterres said in response to a question from Al Jazeera: I must respect the will of our envoy to Sudan and accept his resignation, and he has strong reasons for doing so.
