Old Omdurman Committees Withdraw from Taqaddum
Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The old Omdurman Resistance Committees Coordination (RCC) has withdrawn from the Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (Taqaddum), saying its role has been ignored its role, and that Taqaddum has also failed to pay attention to reservations expressed towards the Addis Ababa Declaration signed with Rapid Support Militia.
RCC said in a statement, on Friday, that it continued to call for stopping the war through the unity of the forces that support the choices of the Sudanese people, and it engaged in frontal work with the committees and forces seeking to stop the war until the work proceeded to form RCC.
It added that they have created a structure and developed a road map to accommodate everyone in one body, but the structure did not give the body of the RCC its true value. The statement continued: We did not find what we deserve as RCC in participating with voice, representation, and vision for many reasons. They wanted to limit the role of the RCC and considered them mere “participatory bodies nothing more”.
It noted that the committees specified their reservations regarding the “Addis Ababa Declaration” signed between the head of Taqaddum, Abdullah Hamdouk and the Commander of Rapid Support, Mohamed Hamdan “Hemedti,” and did not find any interaction, in addition to many violations and lack of institutionalization in the media and executive office.
The RCCs confirmed their decision to withdraw from Taqaddum for “the publically stated and undisclosed” reasons.
It described the violence committed by the Rapid Support militias across Sudan as nothing but crimes against the Sudanese citizen.
