Craftsmen Union Supports Sudanese Army

The Union of Craftsmen in South Kordufan State has launched an initiative to maintain all broken down vehicles and residents related to the army in support of the armed forces.

The Governor of South Kordufan State, Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Karim, launched the initiative on Saturday, at the 14th Infantry Division, describing it as the advanced strategic battalion, as it is qualitative and unique and includes a number of specialists, competencies and experiences in various fields. He added that it is a unique idea that has not been tested anywhere in the country.

The Governor praised the great roles of the craftsmen for their active role in spurring their communities into action. He said that Sudan was attacked by the arrogant countries, but the armed forces remained stubborn against any lurking enemy, stressing his support and care for the craftsmen category. He promised to remove any obstacles facing this sector in their work environment and their endeavor to advance and develop the state.

For his part, the Commander of the 14th Infantry Division, Major General Faisal Mukhtar Al-Sayer, confirmed that the initiative came at the right time and is a real addition that pushes the armed forces to protect the borders of the region, praising the citizens of the state for their national stance with the people’s armed forces, which is not the first time since the outbreak of war. He said that they have been providing a lot of support for the national army.

In the meantime, the head of the Craftsmen Union, Bashri Suleiman Al-Obaid, announced the readiness of the craftsmen to maintain all small and large vehicles and machinery, alongside the builders, plumbers, tailors, detailers, and varnish workers. He said that the initiative includes a number of skilled people in various fields of mechanics, plumbing, electricity, and blacksmithing. He added that their participation in maintaining the broken down machinery of the army, police, and security, stressing he would bring all maintenance supplies related to tires and spare parts.
