Requests to Establish New Factories in the Red Sea

The Ministry of Industry received requests to establish new factories in the field of food, pharmaceutical, engineering and building materials industries in the Red Sea State.

Minister of Industry Mahasen Ali Yaqoub confirmed that the step contributes to replacing imports and developing exports in the near future.

Announcing work to attract investors to different industrial sectors according to the comparative advantages in all states to benefit from available resources and bring about balanced and sustainable development in all of Sudan ,a project to prepare the necessary studies to approve industrial reconstruction in Khartoum State and other affected states after the war is over.

Mahasen noted to the need for coordination between the Ministry of Industry and state governors to provide comparative and incentive advantages by granting lands at incentive prices and not imposing taxes except in exchange for services, as well as coordination with the states, the Ministry of Finance and the competent authorities to provide basic and infrastructure such as water, electricity, roads and others to equip industrial zones in the various states.

She considered the advantages of the industrial sector to be one of the leading economic sectors that plays an essential role in achieving economic and social development

Mahasen pointed to the role of the sector in contributing to the gross domestic product and increasing the rate of economic growth, as well as that it is one of the largest productive sectors that provides sustainable job opportunities. It also contributes to solving the problem of unemployment and reducing the severity of poverty to achieve economic and social stability.
