Demands to change Currency and Combat Smuggling

The former head of the Meat Exporters Division of the Employers’ Union, Dr. Khaled Al-Maqbool, called for changing the currency in light of the counterfeiting and looting that the currency was subjected to during the war that broke out on April 15 last year, in addition to the importance of benefiting from expatriate remittances. He said that it is necessary to attract migrant capital and fight smuggling in accordance with deterrent principles and laws, pointing to the role of the private sector in meeting the country’s need for imports despite the war conditions, and calling for activating the true partnership with the private sector.
