MOH Khartoum State Announces the state is free of Cholera and Dengue Fever 

The head of the Health Emergency Committee and the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, revealed the results of the weekly report for the sixth week of the year – 2024 to follow up on epidemiological emergencies and war wounded.

The state is free of dengue fever and cholera.

As a result of the planning, implementation, and follow-up of preventive services such as combating disease vectors, chlorination of drinking water sources, monitoring food hygiene, examining workers who can process food, and disposing of household and medical waste, addition to providing examinations and treatments for the aforementioned epidemics in hospitals and health centers in the public and private sectors, and the readiness of the 16 isolation centres.

The report pointed that the total cumulative number of war wounded from the 15th April 2023 up to the 15th February 2024 ; was 23,499 injuries and many deaths that occurred 4 hours after admission to the hospital was 1,204 deaths since the beginning of the war, and that the total number of surgical operations performed on war wounded was 9,418 major operations.

The report stated that there are 10 dialysis centers operating in Khartoum State, providing service to 2,000 patients, and that there are 3 other dialysis centers that will be brought into service, indicating that the number of public sector hospitals operating in Khartoum State is 23, the private sector 16 centres, primary health care centers are 62 centres and the private sector are 26.

The head of the Health Emergency Committee announced the expansion of the central ambulance service to transfer medical cases to nearby states as needed

The Health Emergency Committee, in coordination with the Sudanese National Council for Medical and Health Professions, opened the work window in Khartoum State, Karari locality, as of the first of this February.
