Offering six oil blocks for investment

The Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Muhammad Saeed announced the launch of six oil blocks ready for investment, and during his meeting (Thursday) he reviewed the delegation of the German Group for Services and Consulting, investment opportunities and reconstruction of what was destroyed by the war in the oil and electricity sectors; Pointing out the importance of benefiting from similar experiences in the world, the meeting discussed the possibility of cooperation between the ministry and the group in the oil and electricity sectors.
The Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Muhammad Saeed, said, “We have a number of opportunities available for investment in the oil and gas sector, including four oil blocks in the Red Sea within the territorial waters; two other squares in Gezira State are all ready for investment and have evidence of discovered oil, in addition to the new Port Sudan refinery project.
In the electricity sector, the Minister presented the sector’s need to rehabilitate the Umm Dabaker station and develop a number of electrical generation stations, indicating that the extent of destruction and theft to which the electricity and oil sector was exposed is large.
For his part, the head of the German delegation, Professor Hans Renke, the group’s chief advisor, presented the German group’s vision for reconstruction in Sudan and getting rid of the remnants of war by benefiting from the German experience in rebuilding what was destroyed by the World War in Germany.
Vice President of the Council on Foreign Relations at the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Hussein Suleiman, “We have many experiences in this field and long-standing cooperation with the Sudanese oil sector. We will work, through organizing the Sudanese-German Investment Forum, to bring together German companies that have expressed their desire to work in Sudan.” He said.
He invited the Minister of Energy and Oil to visit Germany and stand up on the experience. “Our visit to Sudan came within the framework of responding to the invitation of the Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, Chairman of the Council for Reconstruction and Compensation of the Affected.” He said.
