Vegetable and Fruit Merchants Support Shelter Centers in Khartoum

Vegetable and fruit merchants in Bamdurman launched a major campaign to support shelter centers in the state and provided a vehicle loaded with vegetables and fruits as a support. They also decided to form a committee for popular resistance in the market to protect the market from any attacks.

Ahmed Othman Hamza, Governor of Khartoum, praised the annihilation of the merchants and stressed that the popular resistance was organized according to legal controls that define the powers of the resistance member so that the resistance does not deviate from its declared goals.

The governor stressed his keenness to secure the Sabreen market, especially in the evening, to maintain the security and stability of the market. “We are keen on ensuring the smooth flow of the market’s movement as it is the only market in the state.” He said.

He indicated efforts to organize it after it became frequented by large numbers of merchants and citizens.
