Emergency Program to Operate Markets in Omdurman Locality

Khartoum State continued to implement programs aimed at stabilizing citizens who were detained by the rebel militia in the areas of Al-Fatihab, Banat, Al-Abbasiya and Al-Arda, where it sent today (Saturday) a convoy loaded with supplies and foodstuff.
The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Osman Hamza, announced that the local authorities of Omdurman will implement an emergency program to operate markets in the areas of Banat and other areas to enable citizens to buy their needs, in addition to starting to repair the services that were sabotaged by the militia’s deliberate attack on service facilities.
The Governor said that the relief work for citizens will continue with the participation of all sectors of society by providing specific convoys targeting urgent needs in light of the suffering that lasted for more than 9 months, during which the militia committed the most heinous crimes, deprived the citizen of his most basic needs and rights in life, prevented him from food, and subjected him to submission, personal searches, and detention from which was not spared even women.
Adding that the Ministry of Health is carrying out operations to sanitize the environment and treat the dead bodies.
In addition, Major General Ahmed Al-Tayeb Mohammad Ambiga, head of the Greater Omdurman Security Department of the General Intelligence Service, revealed that the battle to liberate Omdurman has reached the 60 to 70% stage, and that the intelligence service’s forces are deployed and participating in all operations.
