Sudan Events – Agencies

The Sudanese Foreign Ministry said that the Government of Sudan submitted a response to the latest report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on the human rights situation in Sudan.
It explained in a press statement on Tuesday that it included observations and corrections to what was stated in the report, particularly in regard to the description of the crisis in Sudan.
The Foreign Ministry indicated that the Sudanese government, in its response, renewed the commitment of the Sudanese Armed Forces SAF to international humanitarian law and human rights law while carrying out its constitutional duty to defend Sudan and its people.
It continued: Including strict adherence to the rules of engagement in urban areas.
The Sudanese government’s response rejected attempts to equate the Sudanese Armed Forces SAF with the “terrorist militia” and call them two parties to the conflict.
The Sudanese Foreign Ministry welcomed the report’s mention of the unprecedented atrocities of the “militia” and its blatant and documented violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law.
It pointed out that these “militia” atrocities were repeated in reports by the United Nations UN and international organizations and documented by major media outlets.
It explained that it reaffirms that the “rebel militia” has met all the necessary criteria to be declared a terrorist group.
The Ministry reaffirmed the Sudanese government’s commitment to facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid and adopting a fast-track policy to implement all procedures and requirements of humanitarian organizations.
It called on the international community to condemn in the strongest terms the “rebel militia’s” obstruction of humanitarian work by deviating from implementing its obligations under the Jeddah Agreement.
It pointed out that the Rapid Support Forces RSF continued to occupy strategic and service facilities and civilian objects, establish outposts on main roads, and loot the warehouses of humanitarian organizations.
