$1.4 billion, the volume of trade exchange between Sudan and Egypt

Data from the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed the most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to Sudan during the year 2023, and they came as follows: Mill products (barley, starch, and grains) worth $260 million. Sugar and sugar products worth $79 million, soap worth $49 million, plastics and their products worth $47 million, in addition to used clothing worth $45 million.
On the other hand, the most important commodity groups that Egypt imported from Sudan during the year 2023 were as follows:
Live animals worth $164 million, cotton worth $115 million, grains and oil fruits worth $93 million and meat worth $10 million.
In total, the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Sudan reached $1.4 billion during the year 2023, compared to $1.5 billion during the year 2022, a decrease of 6.4%.
The value of Egyptian exports to Sudan increased to record $979.9 million in 2023, compared to $954.3 million in 2022, an increase of 2.7%. The value of Egyptian imports from Sudan amounted to $386.9 million during 2023, compared to $505.4 million during 2022, a decrease of 23.4%.
