Iran Reveals Facts on Its Request to establish A military Base in Sudan

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani denied on Monday that his country had submitted a request to the Sudanese government to establish an Iranian military base in the Red Sea in exchange for its military support.

Kanaani said in his weekly press conference that what was mentioned regarding the establishment of an Iranian military base in Sudan: “This claim is baseless.”

Sudanese Foreign Minister said yesterday Sunday in a press interview: “Iran has never communicated with Sudan to build its naval base in this country.”

He affirmed that Iran has never asked Sudan to build an Iranian base. I recently visited Iran, and this issue was not discussed.”
