The government agrees to indirect negotiations with the militia

Sudanese Foreign Minister, Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, affirmed that on Tuesday the Sudanese authorities agreed to hold indirect talks with the Rapid Support Forces RSF mediated by Libya and Turkey.”
Al-Sadiq said, in an interview to “Sputnik” agency, on the sidelines of the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya: “We are still committed to the important of finding a peaceful solution through talks , but at the same time we affirmed that any solution must be based on the “Jeddah Platform,” and we will implement it and then “We can move forward.”
He added: “We, based on our conviction of the necessity of holding talks , that we agreed to immediately through the Libyan initiative, are expected to conduct indirect negotiations through the mediation of Libya and Turkey.”
The Sudanese Foreign Minister indicated that “the agreement, which was reached in May 2023, through the “Jeddah Platform,” includes the withdrawal of the Rapid Support Forces RSF from civilian homes and government institutions, and the evacuation of the capital, Khartoum, from all armed elements.
However, the Rapid Support Forces RSF did not commit to… under the terms of this agreement.”
Last week, the Libyan capital, Tripoli, witnessed the visit of the Sudanese army SAF commander in chief . Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the commander of the Rapid Support Forces RSF Mohamed Hamdan Daglo , at the invitation of the Libyan unity government to discuss the possibility of reaching an end to the war that has been going on for more than 10 months.
The Libyan unity government announced that it had presented to both parties an initiative for a solution after discussions with both parties to the conflict, stressing that it was welcomed by both parties to the conflict there.
Since last April 15, violent and large-scale clashes have continued between the Sudanese army forces SAF and the Rapid Support Forces RSF in various areas of Sudan, with both sides trying to control vital headquarters, including the Republican Palace, the headquarters of the General Command of the Armed Forces SAF , the Rapid Support Forces RSF Command, and a number of military and civilian airports.
