Renting Port Sudan Refinery warehouses for ten years

Port Sudan Refinery Company Limited and Bashaer Energy Company signed (Wednesday) an agreement to re-maintain and operate oil tanks in two warehouses, with the aim of establishing a strategic reserve for the state.
It was signed by the General Manager of Port Sudan Refinery Company Limited and Bashayer Energy Company, its General Manager, in the presence of a number of specialists.
Director of Bashaer Energy Company, Engineer Hisham Taj Al-Sir Ibrahim, said that the aim of signing the agreement is to maintain the state-owned refinery with a capacity of approximately 40 thousand tons, in exchange for renting warehouses from Port Sudan Refinery Limited for a period of ten years, in order to provide a large storage capacity that is within the strategic reserve, where preference is given to the company. In the market, in addition to maintaining Sudan’s oil production, as well as stabilizing prices and providing continuous supply to the pumps.
He added that the agreement contributes to reviving one of the state’s important assets, which are two large warehouses that were out of service for a period of up to ten years, stressing Bashaer Energy Company’s readiness to cooperate with all government companies.
Meanwhile, the director of the Port Sudan Refinery Company Limited, Engineer Saif Al-Din Ali Salah, said that the agreement aims to develop alternative plans in storing gas oil and gasoline, pointing out that Bashaer Energy Company needs large storage capacities, and we at the Al-Jili Refinery need to host these two tanks that have been out of service for a long time.
He added that this partnership serves the two companies as well as Sudan in general, noting that implementation will begin immediately and it is expected that the work will be completed within six months.
