Ramadan supplies on the rise

Sudan Events – Nahed Oshi

With the approaching month of Ramadan, Sudanese products witnessed a significant increase, and many Sudanese families residing in the Arab Republic of Egypt were unable to provide Ramadan supplies, especially Sudanese goods such as chickpeas and baobab, especially in light of the continuing deterioration of the value of the Sudanese pound to 29 pounds against the Egyptian pound, and the dependence of many residents in Egypt for transfers via “Bankak” application.
Prices doubled, with a kilogram of red lentils ranging between 150 and 200 Egyptian pounds, as a kilogram baobab reaching 300 pounds, 200 pounds for a kilogram of hibiscus, and 100 pounds for a kilogram of peanut butter (dakwa), while the price of a kilogram of okra powder (waika) rose up to 250 pounds, a bucket of helo mur (traditional sudanese drink) cost 600 pounds, 380 pounds for a kilogram of coffee, and 200 pounds for a kilogram of chickpeas.
