Economic expert Abdullah Al-Ramadi called for amending the laws, calling for the penalty for smuggling to be raised to death and for the confiscation of all property to be deterred from tampering with the country’s resources. He said that manipulation by fraudsters has led to the impoverishment of the Sudanese people while enriching specific groups. In his speech to (Al-Ahdath), he stressed the necessity of implementing the laws with all force and added that holding the sword of truth with a weak and weak hand, as is the case now, does not establish the truth. Rather, they call on everyone who dares himself to deviate to dare against the state and the law because there is no deterrent punishment.
He considered the Central Bank of Sudan’s step in banning export companies not a punishment, and said that the work of the law is important. If an exporter refuses to hand over the export revenues to the state, this means a violation of the law, which is punishable by the confiscation of his property to pay the state’s dues. He added by saying that a ruling must be issued by a court against these people so that they can be a warned. What is happening is clear smuggling through official doors. While the export proceeds are refused to be paid to the state, this is more likely to result in corruption and damage than the smuggling, so it is necessary to tighten the smuggling outlets and amend the laws so that the smugglers are sentenced to death and the confiscation of all property.
Al-Ramadi said that there should be seriousness and firmness on the part of the state, and this laxity calls for daring to enforce the laws of justice and not “improving” them. “This is absurdity and manipulation that should be resolved immediately by the force of the law.” He said.
