Climate Change May Make Sudan uninhabitable
Sudan Events – Agencies
A report issued by CNN, yesterday written by Bianca Brito, indicated that Sudan has become one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change that affects food security.
70% of the rural population depends on traditional rain-fed agriculture – both for food and livelihoods.
Bianca referred to a report issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which confirmed that 1.9 million people in Sudan will be affected by a decline in agricultural and livestock production – due to the small size of agricultural areas, weak pastures, and limited available water.
