The Country Director of the World Food Program confirmed its readiness to purchase quantities of wheat produced from farmers in the Gezira Scheme this season for the purpose of grinding it and distributing it free of charge to the citizens of the Scheme.
During his meeting (Wednesday) at the World Food Program headquarters in Port Sudan, the Director of the World Food Program in Sudan, the Governor of the Gezira Scheme, Engineer Ibrahim Mustafa Ali, directed his assistants to study the matter with the management of the Gezira Scheme and the extent of the possibility of putting the program into effect to complement the World Food Programs in supporting farmers in the project.

He appreciated the efforts of the World Food Program in supporting wheat farmers in the Scheme with free production inputs of seeds and fertilizers in an area of ​​65 thousand acres this season, the impact of which was reflected in the good establishment of the wheat crop.
