Liverpool chooses an alternative coach in case the contract with Alonso fails

Liverpool has developed an alternative plan, in case it is not possible to sign Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso before the start of next season.
Liverpool’s current coach, Jurgen Klopp, announced his departure from the team at the end of the current season, after a journey that lasted more than 8 years.
According to what was reported by The Sun newspaper, Liverpool has identified Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbe as a potential replacement if the club fails to sign its former player Alonso, who is also wanted at Bayern Munich.
Liverpool’s new sporting director, Richard Hughes, knows De Zerbe well, and tried to make him coach of Bournemouth previously, but the departure of Graham Potter from Brighton precipitated the latter’s contract with the Italian coach.
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said earlier that he sees De Zerbe as someone who can replace him when he leaves Manchester City, while Barcelona also admires him.
It is possible that Alonso (42 years old) will remain in Leverkusen for at least another season, if Real Madrid announces its desire for the former Spanish international to succeed its current coach, Carlo Ancelotti.
