The government launches a program to restore services in Khartoum

On Tuesday, the Sovereignty Council and the Federal Government launched a program to restore services in Khartoum State, which was targeted by the rebel militia and caused significant damage, especially in the electricity, water, communications and police stations sectors.

Lieutenant General, Marine Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, member of the Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, led a federal delegation that inspected a number of service facilities.
The delegation at the Ninth Hot Revolution Office focused on restoring the prepayment system for electricity as a step to stop the random delivery of electricity and rationalize and continue its consumption.

While the delegation inspected the field work teams for electricity emergencies, which will work to maintain and restore electricity to revive old Omdurman in preparation for the return of citizens.

A member of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Jaber, urged electricity workers to redouble their efforts because the citizen is waiting for the power to return until he can return and settle in his home.

The Minister of Energy and Oil, Engineer Mohieddin Naeem, said that the visit aims to restore services to the liberated areas and prepare them for the return of citizens, and we have provided the spare parts required to repair electricity and water.

While the Minister of Development and Social Security, Ahmed Adam Bakhit, explained that their role comes in supporting civil support for the Governor of Khartoum, as he is doing great work among his citizens.

The General Director of the Sudan Electricity Holding Company confirmed that they will be present during the coming period until electricity is restored.

While the director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Muhammad Taher Omar, said that the company will contribute to the rehabilitation of the station, and he confirmed that the mining sector is capable of restoring what was destroyed by the war.

In this context, the Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Othman Hamza, said that the visit is important, in which we received appreciated support to provide water, electricity, and financial support to citizens, in addition to promises to support the rest of the stations.
It is noteworthy that the delegation visited the Corps of Engineers and met with the commander, officers, and soldiers.The visit stopped at the power stations on Al-Arbaeen Street and the Engineers Electricity, which were subjected to major damage.

The delegation concluded its visit by inspecting the conditions of the shelters by visiting the Al-Hara 21 shelter center, where they checked on the conditions of the arrivals and provided them with in-kind support.
