River Nile Re-exports Commodities to safe states

Sudan Events – Nahid Oshi

The Secretary-General of the Atbara Chamber of Commerce, Saif Al-Din Muqallad, has announced the stability and availability of consumer goods prices during the holy month of Ramadan, especially flour, oils, sugar, and other consumer goods, as a result of the harmony of the plans of the Atbara Chamber of Commerce, merchants, and economic affairs concerned with monitoring the markets, providing consumer goods, and covering any scarcity or shortcomings.
He said, “Thanks to harmony, we did not suffer from any shortage of materials, especially since the city of Atbara has become a market and a starting point for all commercial movement between the states.”
He called for not being strict about the issue of consumer goods leaving the state, but on the contrary, there were facilities for the re-export of food commodities, so there was availability of goods in other safe states, except for some states that are still under fire of war and rebel occupation, so that the goods do not go to the militia.
In his interview with Al-Ahdath, he confirmed the availability of goods during the last quarter of Ramadan, especially those imported from Egypt and Syria.
Muqallad praised the support of voluntary and governmental organizations for Ramadan baskets, as 30,000 Ramadan baskets were distributed to citizens of the state and displaced, which contributed to providing goods to support families during the holy month of Ramadan and contributed to the stability of the prices of goods and their availability during the month.
He was assured of the availability of Eid Al-Fitr supplies, including consumer items and clothing.
