WFP :Sudan is at verge of the largest humanitarian crisis

Sudan Events – Agencies

World Food Program Executive Director Cindy McCain warned that Sudan is on the brink of the world’s largest humanitarian crisis that is expected to also include Chad and South Sudan.
During an interview on CNN, she described the situation in Sudan as a forgotten crisis that is not covered by the media, while 2.2 million people have sought refuge in neighboring countries, led by Chad.
She warned that the crisis in Sudan also represents a threat to US national security due to the migration crisis it creates.
She expressed her regret at the lack of funding to deliver aid to Sudanese refugees and displaced persons, and said that there is a need for more support to provide humanitarian aid inside Sudan across the western and southern borders.
