The Director of the Agricultural Department of the Gezira Scheme, Dr. Abdul Qadir Ahmed Muhammad Khaled, announced the directives of the senior management for the new agricultural season 2024/2025, at a meeting of the directors of the transportation departments, headed by the Deputy Director of the Agricultural Department of the Transportation Departments, Yasser Abdul Jalil Naqd, in Area 24 Al-Qurashi.
Khaled stressed the need to adhere to the agricultural cycle, clean the rain from the remains of last season’s crops, and the need to limit irrigation problems and determine the priorities of the summer work program to be presented to the irrigation department in the concerned department in preparation for its completion.
The Director of the Agricultural Department directed the need to limit the mechanisms for digging irrigation canals, determine the plots to be planted according to the agricultural cycle, and begin preparations for the lands for summer crops in light of the senior management’s commitment to securing petroleum materials for private sector owners.
He stressed the importance of urging farmers to hold refresher conferences at the canal level and determine their collective options at the single-farm level.
The Director of the Agricultural Department stressed the need to follow up on the receipt of wheat seeds and transport them from the agricultural lands on an ongoing basis to the department’s warehouses in the 24th Qurashi area.
For his part, Engineer Yasser Abdel Jalil Naqd stressed the necessity of adhering to the directives of senior management and considering it a program that must be implemented to ensure the success of the agricultural season in light of the challenges facing the Scheme due to the war. He called on the agricultural lands administration to mobilize determination, combine efforts, and integrate roles to overcome the effects of the war and its repercussions on the Scheme with more production.
