PSC” Condemns Foreign Interference in Sudan

The African Peace and Security Council (PSC) has requested the African Union Commission to refer the Council’s statement on the situation in Sudan to the African members of the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations and through him to the Security Council as a working document, with the aim of ensuring enhanced coordination and harmonization of efforts in Sudan.

The African Peace Council (PSC) issued a statement after a meeting in which it discussed the situation in Sudan.

The African PSC decided to conduct a solidarity field visit to Sudan and communicate with stakeholders on the ground.  It decided to keep this matter under active consideration.

The African PSC condemned all forms of external interference in Sudan’s internal affairs, and called on all actors currently providing military support to the belligerents to refrain from further inflaming the conflict, and instead play a more positive and constructive role in support of peace.
