Former Taxation Chamber Secretary Calls for Adopting Indirect Taxes Collection

Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

The former Secretary-General of the Taxation Chamber, the financial expert, Ahmed Adam Salem Mohammed, doubted the possibility of collecting tax revenues in light of the current conditions the country is experiencing due to the militia war.
In his speech to (Sudan Events), he believed that the best way to collect revenues in the event of this war is to adopt a policy of collecting indirect taxes, reducing direct taxes, and increasing service fees.
He called on the Ministry of Finance to change the financial policy in collecting taxes, customs, and fees to a policy of indirect tax that is taken from capital at a specific rate, such as added value, customs duties, and production fees, and to work to ignore direct taxes and local fees, provided that the determined percentage is reasonable and acceptable so that the taxpayer can pay them.
