Establishing a Gold Refinery in Atbara

The Director General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Limited, Mohamed Taher Omar, has announced the establishment of a gold refinery in the city of Atbara in coordination with Zadna Company, next to the gold city in the state.
He discussed with the Governor of the River Nile State, Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdul-Majed, all issues related to mining activity in the state.
Taher stressed the need to overcome all obstacles facing industries and mining activities in the River Nile State to increase production and maximize public revenues, noting the increase in revenues from the traditional mining sector during the first quarter of the current year. Mohammad Taher appreciated the great efforts of the River Nile State government and its interest in mining issues.
He praised the experience of the River Nile State in selecting and implementing social responsibility projects, and said that the River Nile State represents the backbone of the mining sector.
