“Locusts “Threaten Agriculture in South Kordofan and Urgent Demand For Al-Burhan

The director of the agricultural sector in charge of Abu Jubaiha locality in South Kordofan state, Hammad Suleiman Hassan, has sounded the alarm warning of the danger of the night locusts invading the area, stressing that they threaten the next agricultural season.
During his submission to the relevant authorities in a joint letter with the director of plant protection in Abu Jubaiha locality, Ahmed Hassan Anglo, announced that the eastern region of the state had become traditional breeding areas for the nigh locust pest, revealing that the pest had reached the epidemic stage and was threatening agricultural production.
He called on the competent authorities, led by the President of the Sovereign Council, the Federal Minister of Agriculture, the Federal Minister of Plant Protection and the head of the Rain Sector Caucus, to intervene urgently and quickly to combat this pest before the rains fall, with ground and air control to ensure the success of the next agricultural season, noting that they had appealed to the competent authorities earlier to no avail and no response.
