Finance Minister: Countries and Organizations are Ready to Support Sudan

Sudanese Finance Minister Dr. Jibril Ibrahim has said that there are countries and international organizations that have shown their willingness to stand by Sudan and support it financially and technically in the post-conflict phase, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar.
Jibril pointed out in an interview with the Gulf newspaper (Al-Watan) that support takes multiple forms, from direct financial support to participation in infrastructure projects and economic development.
In addition to Germany and Japan, which have previous experiences in reconstruction after being exposed to wars, and Japan, which can provide valuable support to Sudan in the post-war stage.
Adding that there are many international organizations that can play an important role in supporting Sudan, such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the United Nations.
He revealed consultations with the Islamic Bank Group to develop projects in which they can assist.
In another context, Jibril Ibrahim acknowledged that customers’ deposits of gold and cash held in Sudanese banks and their various branches were greatly affected by the war in Sudan.
He confirmed its direct impact on the financial and banking system, because the Rapid Support Militia (RSF) had targeted it from the first day.
It was revealed that the RSF militia had stolen about 2.7 tons of gold and 9 tons of silver from the refinery, in addition to the equivalent of $350 million in the first days of the war.
