Al Jazeera Net Launches a Page Specialized in African affairs

Al Jazeera Net has launched a new page on its main portal dealing with African affairs in several areas, including news, special reports, tourism, safari, landmarks, and photo albums.
The launch of the page comes within the framework of the qualitative and geographical expansion that the site seeks in order to reach its audience in Africa, whose 150 million residents speak the Arabic language and are attracted by Islamic culture and interact with Islamic issues by virtue of the religious affiliation of a large segment of them.
Mr. Saidi Hamidi, Director of Al Jazeera Net, says that the launch of the page reflects the site’s interest in Africa, which has often been absent from press coverage and is not mentioned by the media except in disasters and famines, despite the fact that the continent is rich in its huge resources and has great economic, cultural and social diversity.
The page also aims to reflect the resources of this pristine continent, over which the great powers compete for the various natural resources they possess, and everyone seeks to have a foothold there.
In its first phase, the work is based on a professional editorial staff spread across several regions of the continent who provide the site with reports, videos, and photos and follow up on political, social, and economic issues.
The page will seek at a later stage to establish partnerships, cooperation agreements, and provide content with some companies and institutions working in the economic and tourism fields to serve its audience.
