An initiative to Achieve Food Security in Sudan

The Arab Organization for Agricultural Development has launched an initiative aimed at supporting the agricultural sector in Sudan and enhancing the ability to achieve food security and sustainable agricultural development.
The Minister of Agriculture, Abu Bakr Al-Bushra, announced his commitment to facilitating all obstacles facing the Arab Authority for Agricultural Development (AAAD) to continue the series of training programs for agricultural cadres in the Red Sea. He said that the Ministry of Agriculture’s cadre needs more training and qualification in all its sectors.
During his visit to the coordination office established by the AAAD in Port Sudan, he appreciated the AAAD’s efforts in building Sudanese agricultural capabilities and cadres, as it implemented, under the current circumstances, four training courses that made a clear contribution to raising the knowledge level of the ministry’s cadres during the year 2023 in the city of Wad Medani, capital of Gezira State.
While the representative of the Director-General of the AAAD referred to the its initiative to support the agricultural sector in Sudan in light of the current circumstances. He said this initiative comes at a sensitive time for Sudan, which suffers from multiple challenges such as war, internal conflicts, climate change, and the shortage of agricultural resources, while the AAAD seeks Through this initiative, we will support the agricultural sector in the Republic of Sudan and enhance its ability to achieve food security and sustainable agricultural development.
He praised the permanent cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture with the leadership of the AAAD during the difficult period it went through due to the circumstances in the country where the organization is based, especially his tireless efforts until the AAAD was able to find an office to coordinate its work in the city of Port Sudan.
