The agricultural insurance workshop and its impact on the sustainability of agricultural development, which was organized by the General Administration of Agriculture in Merowe Locality in cooperation with Shikan Insurance and Reinsurance Limited, Company recommended the necessity of ensuring the stability and development of agricultural projects with the obligation of agricultural insurance for all agricultural activities in the locality.
The Director of the General Administration of Agriculture in the locality, Othman Ahmed Osman said that the workshop discussed the risks and challenges facing agricultural projects and the means to address them before they occur, pointing to the importance of integrating the roles between the General Administration of Agriculture, the Agricultural Bank and Shikan Agricultural Insurance Company, with its plant and animal branches, in the sustainability of agricultural development.
The Director of the Business Development Department at Shikan Insurance and Reinsurance Company, Mohamed Hassan Abdel-Baqi, indicated that the workshop discussed in detail three specialized working papers on property insurance, Islamic insurance and agricultural insurance, its objectives and its role in the agricultural renaissance in the locality.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Agricultural Insurance Department at Shikan Insurance and Reinsurance Company Limited, Siddiq Al-Mahdi Abbas, reviewed the importance of the workshop in coming up with visions and ideas that contribute to agricultural insurance coverage for project electricity canal fractures and irrigation channels in agricultural projects.
