$315 million US support for Sudan

US Special Envoy for Sudan Tom Perriello expressed his hope, in a tweet on the “X” platform, that “these blessed days will inspire the parties to the conflict in Sudan to cease fire and begin peaceful negotiations for the future of the Sudanese people.”
Perriello announced that the United States US will provide $315 million in vital humanitarian aid to support approximately 18 million refugees in Sudan and neighboring countries affected by the conflict, which he described as tragic.
