Sudan Events – Agencies

Sudan’s representative to the United Nations, Al-Harith Idris, condemned the UAE’s support provided to the Rapid Support RSF Militia. The Sudanese representative handed over (6) UAE passports found in the pockets of fighters with the militia, and disclosed the movements of the Chadian rebel group, Mohamed Bakhit Dodoy, from the Tamsa area in southern Libya to the Chadian Umm Jaras area and from there to Sudan with (12) combat vehicles carrying about (100) individuals to participate in the war alongside the Rapid Support RSF Militia.

Al-Harith said that the Security Council failed to address the flow of UAE support to the Rapid Support Militia through Chad, southern Libya and the Central African Republic, and the flow of mercenaries from the Sahel to transform Sudan into a destructive settlement model.

On Tuesday, the Sudanese government announced the armed forces’ commitment to the Jeddah Declaration, denying at the same time the existence of famine in the country, and acknowledging that crop production faces challenges.

It accused the Rapid Support Militia of obstructing the arrival of humanitarian aid.

Sudan’s UN envoy said the Rapid Support Forces’ attack on Al-Jazeera State exacerbated the displacement crisis.

He thanked Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait for providing aid to the Sudanese people.

Speaking at a Security Council session on Tuesday on the ongoing war in Sudan, Sudan’s envoy said the Rapid Support Forces had systematically destroyed police facilities.

He said the Rapid Support Forces were recruiting children and using civilians as human shields.
