The Brazilian national team is missing the services of its star Vinicius Junior, during its upcoming confrontation against Uruguay in the quarter-finals of the South American Cup (Copa America 2024), currently being held in the United States. The Brazilian and Uruguay teams will meet at dawn next Sunday, in search of a place in the top four of the continental competition, and Vinicius will miss the match, which is being held at the Allegiant Stadium due to suspension, after receiving a yellow card during the Brazilian team’s draw (1-1) with its Colombian counterpart in the third (final) round in the fourth group of the group stage of the tournament.
This was the second yellow card that Vinicius received during the tournament, noting that he received a warning in the match against Paraguay in the second round, and was suspended for one match. Vinicius’s absence will be a painful blow to the Brazilian national team, which is seeking to win the Copa America title for the tenth time in its history and the first in a year 2019.
