Sudan Events – Follow-ups
Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Rapid Support RSF Militia prevented shipments of seeds provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) from reaching farmers in Sennar state for the rainy agricultural season.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed in a statement on Thursday that the move comes as an extension of the terrorist militia’s targeting of agricultural production areas and means with the aim of causing famine in the country, and emptying the productive regions of their indigenous populations with the aim of settling its mercenaries and foreign elements.
He added, “The militia’s criminal plan in this regard included looting the largest World Food Program ( WFP) warehouses in Wad Madani last December, disrupting the winter agricultural season in the Gezira Scheme after looting agricultural machinery and mobile assets and closing canals, looting harvested crops and seeds prepared for planting, threatening production areas in Sennar state and the Rahad scheme , and sabotaging the Agricultural Research Authority and the Agricultural Genetics Bank. The Sudanese government affirmed that it had completed preparations to produce enough food in safe areas, and that the Sudanese people are capable of winning the production battle and defeating the plan to starve them.
