Militia Prevents seeds provided by FAO from reaching Sennar

Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the terrorist militia prevented shipments of seeds from reaching Sennar state, which was intended in a statement to starve the people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs included the statement below
Press release
As part of the comprehensive war waged by the terrorist Janjaweed militia against the Sudanese people, including the destruction of infrastructure, humanitarian institutions and livelihoods of the vast majority of the population, the militia prevented shipments of seeds provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to farmers in Sennar state for the rainy agricultural season.
This comes as an extension of the terrorist militia’s targeting of agricultural production areas and means with the aim of causing famine in the country, and emptying the productive regions of their indigenous populations in order to settle its mercenaries and foreign elements.
The militia’s criminal plan in this regard included the following:
• Looting the largest World Food Program (WFP)(WFP )warehouses in Wad Madani last December.
• Disruption of the winter agricultural season in Gezira Scheme after looting agricultural machinery and mobile assets, closing canals, looting harvested crops and seeds prepared for planting.
• Threatening production areas in Sennar state and the Rahad Project.
• Destruction of the Agricultural Research Authority and the Agricultural Genetics Bank.
The Sudanese government confirms that it has completed preparations to produce enough food in safe areas, and that the Sudanese people are capable of winning the production battle and defeating the plan to starve them.
