Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, said that due to the rebellion of the Rapid Support RSF Militia, Sudan has become one of the largest countries exporting migration after it was one of the largest hosts of refugees from neighboring countries.
Sudan participated in the Second Regional Review Conference of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration in the Arab Area at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on July 3 and 4, 2024 with a delegation headed by Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he delivered Sudan’s speech at the meeting.
The Secretary pointed out that more than fifteen million Sudanese have been displaced and sought refuge from their homes, most of them women, children and the elderly, in areas that have been subjected to militia attacks.
The Undersecretary in charge called for developing treatments and recommendations that allow for safe, organized and regular migration, and for the countries receiving Sudanese migrants due to the war imposed by the Rapid Support Forces RSF to take into account the basic principles of human rights on which the Global Compact was built, by facilitating legal migration paths by granting entry visas, reactivating relevant agreements, non-refoulement, facilitating access to basic services, and integration into the receiving communities, which are sister communities with which we are bound by Arab and historical ties.
The Sudanese delegation also presented a paper on the rights of women and children in war and conflict zones, where it presented the current situation of violations by the Rapid Support RSF Militia against women and children as a model.
