A catastrophic situation
Head of the African Peace and Security Council, Manguel Membe, revealed in a speech during the opening session of the initial deliberations of the Sudanese political process in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, under the auspices of the African Union, “the formation of a dedicated committee of heads of government to deal with the two parties to the conflict, “Burhan and Hemedti,” to immediately stop the fighting without conditions, and it will begin its work next week.”

Membe said that the African Union “decided to hold an extraordinary African summit on Sudan in the coming months,” describing the situation in Sudan as catastrophic, stressing that the last meeting of the council at the level of presidents agreed that the African Peace and Security Council would deal with stopping the fighting as a top priority.
One point:

Political analyst Rashid Al-Tijani rules out the success of the African step towards the Sudanese crisis, describing it as weak, and justifies this by saying that it revolves around one point, which is the meeting between Burhan and Hemedti, noting that this step was resorted to earlier and failed.
Al-Tijani pointed out in an interview with (Sudan Events ) that doubts about Hemeti’s presence still exist, the latest of which was what his dismissed political advisor, Yousuf Ezzat, stated, saying that Hemeti’s roles are being carried out by his deputy, Abdel Rahim Daglo.
Al-Tijani affirmed that the endeavor towards the Sudanese crisis is moving towards Jeddah platform and that the SAF’s talk is moving towards that with the implementation of what was agreed upon earlier.
Participating Blocs :

About 20 Sudanese political blocs participated in the Sudanese political process in Addis Ababa, most notably “Return to the Founding Platform”, “Democratic Bloc”, “National Movement Forces”, “Sudan Alliance for Justice”, “National Consensus Group”, “Women’s Representatives”, “Some Representatives of the Native Administration”, and “Popular Congress Party”, while the Coordination of Civil Democratic Powers “Taqddum “, the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid Nour and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu, the Communist Party, and the Arab Socialist Baath Party were absent from the participation.

Pressure Card :

African affairs expert Mekki Al-Maghribi links the success of the African step to the preparatory consultations and delegations negotiating in Addis Ababa, in addition to anticipating the negotiations between the army and the Rapid Support Forces RSF in Geneva regarding the humanitarian situation and the Cairo conference.
He added, “If all of this is set at a harmonious pace, Burhan will go to the negotiations with a strong backing from the Sudanese people united behind the national ranks.”
He said, “The Sudanese must focus on their unity behind the SAF , and the army must focus on using the national ranks and making it a priority, not bargaining with the national ranks and considering it a pressure card in order to obtain good negotiations with the FFC and the militia.”
External movements :

A number of external movements have emerged over the past few days regarding the Sudanese crisis, starting with the conference of political and civil forces hosted by the Egyptian capital, Cairo, through the visit of the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister, Walid bin Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji, and the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed.

A blatant Attempt :

The leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, Khaled Al-Fahl, places the efforts of the African Peace and Security Council towards the Sudanese crisis within the framework of mediation and doubling the role of African organizations whose position on the war in Sudan has not yet represented the minimum responsibility that falls on these organizations and the extent of their commitment to international laws and respect for the sovereignty of states.
Al-Fahl told (Sudan Events ), “These organizations have continued to view the war in Sudan as between two parties in an open and blatant attempt to equate the national SAF which represents the sovereignty and legitimacy of the state and the support of the Sudanese people, with a militia brought from abroad to practice violations against the Sudanese people.”
He added, “We look at the role of the African Peace and Security Council from the perspective of defining and describing the crisis correctly and looking at all the evidence that places the rebel Rapid Support RSF Militia in the category of extremist terrorist organizations and not escaping punishment. We look forward to a real role for African organizations that places the state and its legitimate institutions represented by the armed forces on the side of the truth and the militias and countries supporting them on the list of accusations.”
Field Developments :

On the ground, the SAF continues to achieve victories over the militia, and military sources said, according to “Sudan Tribune”, that the army repelled a large-scale attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces RSF on the city of Sennar, on Thursday, in an attempt to extend its control over the last cities in Sennar state.
The heroes in the Sennar axis wrote the most wonderful epics as they defeated the rebellion and inflicted losses in lives and equipment by taking over (4) dual and (3) Dushkas in a neighborhood, and completely destroying (9) vehicles.
On the other hand, the writer and political analyst Abdel Majid Abdel Hamid revealed, according to what he said was affirmed information, that the Rapid Support Forces RSF militias have begun to rapidly withdraw their forces and soldiers from the cities and neighborhoods of Khartoum, and he said that the withdrawal will include a number of public and vital facilities, particularly in the city of Bahri and East Nile.. and that the withdrawal coincides with military and logistical losses faced by the Rapid Support RSF Militia.

Decorative Gathering :

Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Congress, Dr. Mohamed Badr El-Din, says that the African Union (AU)is not qualified to take any positive action to resolve the escalating Sudanese crisis and will not be accepted or welcomed by the active and influential civil democratic forces in the Sudanese scene.
Badr El-Din added to (Sudan Events ) “We do not count on this initiative and as the Addis Ababa conference came without effectiveness (a decorative political gathering for the National Congress’s facades) and its outcomes will be disappointing to what the Sudanese people are looking forward to in order to stop the war and end the suffering that has been prolonged.”
He pointed out that the African Union’s call will not find a response from the two parties to the conflict and if it is destined to happen, this may happen through pressure from other parties that have influence on both parties and will not achieve what is expected of it.
Information had been circulated about the African Union AU assigning Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to arrange a meeting between the President of the Sovereignty Council TSC and Commander of the Sudanese SAF, Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Commander of the Rapid Support RSF Militia, Hemeti. However, Al-Burhan informed a media delegation that met him a few days ago that he had not received an invitation from Museveni to meet Hemeti and that he had heard about the matter from the media.
