Khartoum Water Corporation appeals to its subscribers to pay the tariff

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

Khartoum State Water Corporation has made the continuation of water service in the state conditional on its subscribers paying the full water bill to ensure the continuity and stability of water supply.
Director General of the Corporation, Eng. Consultant Mohamed Ali Al-Ajab, explained in a press circular on Wednesday that the corporation is working with its own resources that have stopped since the outbreak of the war, noting that the corporation is working with an independent law that allows it to collect its revenues in the manner it sees fit to achieve its goals of developing the service, pointing out that its subscribers have stopped paying the bill through electricity windows in the past period due to war reasons, which has burdened the corporation and put it in a very complex situation, calling on the corporation’s subscribers to commit to paying the water bill first to first to sustain the continuity of the service, adding that water service is an expensive industry that requires huge sums of money, including purification and sterilization materials and spare parts needed by Nile stations, wells, transmission lines and networks, appreciating the efforts of workers during the war period, which led to the availability of water supply and its return to a large number of areas in the state.
