Understandings between the Ministries of Energy, Oil and Environment

Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohi El-Din Naiem Mohamed Saeed, affirmed his ministry’s interest in the environment, referring to the members of the General Administration for Environment, Health and Safety at the Ministry of Energy and Oil, in addition to the formation of specialized departments in the environment and safety in every company operating in the petroleum sector, as these departments operate with very advanced capabilities and equipment and keep pace with developments in the field of environment and safety, welcoming during his meeting (Thursday) the Minister of Environment, Tourism and Investment in the Sudanese Red Sea state, Dr. Samia Oshik, more cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in the Sudanese Red Sea state, affirming the arrangement of a field visit by the Minister to work sites in the petroleum sector to see the latest developments in the field of the environment in the oil sector and learn about advanced technologies and equipment in this field and activate cooperation in the field of training, as the Ministry of Energy and Oil has centers for technical and administrative training that have been merged into one department.
The meeting discussed further cooperation between the oil and the Red Sea state, and the meeting addressed cooperation in the field of environment, safety and training and a number of areas in which cooperation has previously taken place.
For her part, the Minister of Environment and Tourism in the Red Sea state, Dr. Samia Oshik, said: “We have many secretariats in the ministry, including the Environment Secretariat, the Tourism Secretariat, and the Free Zones Secretariat.
We also have connections and cooperation with a number of ministries, and we have international agreements and previous cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Oil. We would like to activate this cooperation to benefit from the potential of oil in the field of training, the environment, and a number of fields.”
