Efforts to reduce Flour and Sugar Prices in Atbara

The Cooperative Union in Atbara Locality said that the increase in the customs dollar contributed to an unprecedented increase in food commodities.
The Secretary of the Cooperative Union in Atbara, Mohamed Abdullah Badni, revealed that the union’s leadership had reached understandings with the Ministry of Finance in the River Nile and Atbara Locality to intervene to reduce basic food commodities (flour and sugar), affirming that people’s livelihood requires a real vision about the high cost of food commodities.
He revealed an urgent meeting (Tuesday) with the Cooperative Administration and the Zakat Bureau in order to reduce the price of sugar by selling it for a thousand pounds in the markets and distributing it through cooperative mechanisms in the neighborhoods.
