Sudanese-Chinese Understandings in Oil and Electricity Fields

Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohi El-Din Naiem Mohamed Saeed, will lead a delegation from the oil and electricity sectors to visit China at the end of next August to sign a number of agreements in the fields of oil and electricity.
The minister affirmed his ministry’s keenness on the success of the visit to restore oil to its former glory and advance the electricity sector in Sudan, especially in the field of renewable energies such as wind and solar energy.
This came during his meeting in his office, Monday, with the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires to Sudan in the presence of the Chinese Commercial Attaché.
The meeting discussed arrangements for the visit, which is the largest of its kind in years.
The minister said that we will put forward a number of files for cooperation, including the empty squares for investment in oil and natural gas, addition to building a new refinery in Port Sudan and rehabilitating the Khartoum refinery and power stations after the destruction caused by the war, considering that China is a strategic partner for Sudan in the oil sector.
For his part, the Chinese Chargé d’Affaires affirmed the embassy’s keenness and exerting more efforts for joint coordination so that the visit would be crowned with success and achieve its desired goals, pointing to the depth of relations between the two countries, especially in the field of oil.
