Red Sea State Budget Amendment

Red Sea State Government Council approved a proposal to amend the state’s general budget for the year 2024 by adding SDGs 5 million to the services item.
The Director General of the Ministry of Finance and Manpower in the state, Mohamed Ali Kajar, explained that the amendment included adding an amount of SDGs 5 million to the services item, indicating that this would contribute to providing services to citizens in a better way.
While the Director of the Budget Department at the Ministry of Finance in the state, Mahmoud Ali Al-Bashir, explained that the study of the financial performance for the first and second quarters showed a deviation in federal transfers, which are represented in grants (first chapter), which include salaries of state employees and workers’ compensation, which includes “pensioner benefits”, explaining that the Ministry of Finance has been working to address the situation based on the directives of the state governor and the Director General of Finance, and the treatment was represented in creating an increase of (30%) in revenues in ministries and localities and a percentage of (10%) for federal units, which was represented in police agencies.
The budget director at the state Ministry of Finance revealed that the imbalance and deficit were addressed through state resources, addition to moving internal items that were abundant and covering the deficit.
