Khartoum State Ministry of Agriculture begins to sow Forest Seeds

Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Resources and Irrigation in Khartoum State today began implementing the forest seed sowing program as part of the fall season programs. Dr. Sirr Al-Khatim Fadl Al-Milan Abdul Latif, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources in the state, said that the program aims to increase the vegetation cover of forests, renew them and sustain them, indicating that this forest seed sowing operation is one of the important programs of the ministry and we are keen to implement it despite the war conditions because of its importance in light of climate change.

He explained that Khartoum State has more than 283 forests distributed across various localities. He affirmed that there is a growing global interest in forests and their importance in climate changes occurring on Earth and that forests are the lungs of the Earth and represent a source of pasture and livelihoods.
