Kwasi Appiah: I strive to create a competitive team that isn’t satisfied with the honour of participating
Khartoum – Sudan Events
Sudanese national team coach Kwasi Appiah said he refuses anyone to interfere in his work.
In an interview with Asimba FM radio in Accra, Appiah referred to his contract with the Sudanese Football Association, saying: I contracted with the Sudanese Football Association as a technical director and supervisor of the other teams. I was given the opportunity to choose my supporting staff, and all things were done in harmony with the work system of the Sudanese Football Association.
He added: I went to Sudan with goals, including building a team capable of competing in the World Cup qualifiers.
I seek to make history with the Sudanese national team, but things are related to hard work. The Sudanese Federation has given me all the powers to build a competitive team and not be a participant in the World Cup and African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Kwasi stated that the only challenge he faces at this stage is the lack of a league in Sudan due to the war, and he said: I hope that security, stability and peace will return to Sudan, this country that has the talents that enable it to bring about a significant change.
He added: Every coach who coaches a national team must not allow interference in his work or dictate to him because that is the biggest mistake.
Kwasi Appiah concluded his speech by saying:
I am happy to supervise the Sudanese national team, and I will do everything in my power to achieve my goals. I found all the cooperation and unprecedented welcome from the Sudanese Football Association and the football fans in Sudan. I tell them, do not rush; we are working for your happiness.
