IGAD Proposes Meeting of Sudan Rivals in Djibouti

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) said that its Executive Secretary, Dr. workneh Gebeyehu, who is currently in Jeddah on behalf of the IGAD Assembly Heads of State and Government to co-facilitate the Sudan talks together with the African Union (AU), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United States of America. The talks aimed at achieving a durable humanitarian ceasefire.
Meanwhile, IGAD called in a statement it proposed together with the African Union for a comprehensive political negotiations led by the Sudanese to be held in IGAD head office in Djibouti.
It is worth noting that IGAD participates for the first time in co-facilitating the negotiations between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces militia, together with the AU, Saudi Arabia and the USA, aiming at durable ceasefire for humanitarian purposes.
