Jibril: America Cannot Impose an Agreement Not Accepted by the Sudanese People

Sudan Events – Reports

Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Justice and Equality Movement, Jibril Ibrahim, said that the Geneva negotiations legitimize the Rapid Support Forces militia as a key power after the war, which the Sudanese people will not accept, leading them to refuse to travel to Switzerland.

During his meeting with a Sudanese-Egyptian media delegation in Port Sudan, Jibril emphasized that the US Special Envoy to Sudan has a negative view of the militia, stating that it has no political or military future after the war. He stressed that they do not want new mediators or observers and affirmed that America does not want to implement the Jeddah Agreement, saying, “America cannot impose on the people an agreement they do not accept.”

Jibril mentioned that the Norwegian ambassador informed them that they want to freeze the situation as it is, which means the continued presence of the militia among civilians, which is unacceptable to the Sudanese people.
