The World Food Programme in Sudan has welcomed the “news that the Adré crossing between Sudan and Chad will open”, considering it a crucial passageway for delivering life-saving aid to Darfur.

In a tweet on the platform “X”, the program announced it would immediately begin delivering food aid to war-torn areas.

The Sovereignty Council has decided to open the border crossing for three months.
