Rainfall Expected to Continue in Most States

The General Authority for Meteorology expected the continuation of rainfall in most states of the country, with varying amounts ranging from heavy to medium to light.

In its bulletin on Saturday, the authority explained that the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is still centered in the eastern part of the country, passing through Port Sudan, Abu Hamad, south of Dongola, and reaching the northern fringes of the western states.

The authority predicted heavy rain in the southern central and southwestern parts of North Darfur State, Central Darfur, and northern West Darfur, as well as the states of East Darfur, West Kordofan, and the central-southern parts of North Kordofan.

It also indicated the possibility of heavy to medium rain in the southeastern and central southern parts of the Red Sea State, southern Nile River State, Kassala, Gedaref, Sennar, Blue Nile, Khartoum, and Al Jazirah, in addition to central and northern White Nile State, the southern fringes of the Northern State, and parts of North Kordofan.

As for medium to light rain, it is expected to cover most states of the country.
